Home school is the best place to raise children to be magnanimous. We can hold up Jesus Christ as the perfect example of magnanimity for our children. We can endeavor to be like Him. We can teach our children to share even when it is hard, to forgive when it doesn't seem fair, give them opportunities to absorb the principle of magnanimity, and eventually see them turn into magnanimous persons themselves.

The Reality of Homeschooling cont.......
We homeschool first and foremost because it is biblical to train up your sons and daughters in the way they should go. Proverbs 22:6. And you ask yourself, what way is that? Is it the way of the world? Is it to teach them that life is about friends, sports, parties, boys, girls and first loves? Is life about having the most fun you can have before you have to be responsible? Is is about rock concerts, video games and going to the movies? Is it about how you look, what you wear and how much money you have? What really are they going to need to know when they grow up?
Children need to know reality. They need to know what life is really going to be about, so that when it finally hits them, they're ready for it. No Surprises. No, "I don't deserve this" or "This isn't any fun, I think I'll quit" or "This is too hard, I'll just find something or someone else that's more fun."
The Home is the best place for children to learn reality. There are no surprises when they begin to live on their own with their own family in their own home. They will understand the daily commitment it takes to complete daily tasks. They will understand the resolve it takes to love your mate for better or for worse. They will watch as you make decisions for the best of the family and learn from your character. They will know what real life is all about, and they will be ready for it.
Academics is not the most important thing for children to know. Daily life, Real Life, Character, commitment, integrity and hard work is what Reality is all about. Learning reading, writing and math is easy. Implementing and displaying character is alot harder habit to form. Public Schools and their humanistic philosphies is not reality. Living amoungst your peer groups 8-10 hours a day is not training children up in the way they should go. Sure, it's fun, for awhile, until they can't do it anymore, and they have to live in reality.
In our home, history is our favorite subject. We can't get enough of it. We study Ancient History, World History, American History and Modern History! All at the same times! Why, because people of the past knew reality and knew how to train up their children in the way they should go.
We love learning how great men and women of the past were raised, so we can learn how to raise more great men and women for the future. Biographies inspire children and adults to live great lives. And these people we read of did not live luxurious, care-free lives. They had hardships, they endured trials, they suffered great pains. But their character, their principles, their faith, their integrity saw them through. And how did they become like this. Through the training up of the way they should go.
Most, if not all were first and foremost trained at home. Trained for hard work, honesty, integrity and magnanimous character. Trained for duty, responsibility and honor. They were trained in the reality of life.
So how do we homeschool our children. Teach them first the biographies of the great men and women of the bible. They will learn to associate, laugh, cry and connect with them. They will learn no one is perfect, even the people of the bible. And they will learn good versus evil.
Next, teach them about great men and women of the world who overcame huge obstacles to uphold their principles, to care and protect their families and to give their lives for others.
And lastly, teach them by your own example of character, commitment and endurance. Remind yourself daily, you are teaching your children reality while training them up in the way they should go.
